Am I Enough ?

Is this what you say to yourself at times? My loves. You are more than ENOUGH.

Each of us has our own uniqueness but we long for the same things. It’s good to know we are not alone in experiencing these feelings and thinking these thoughts. We all crave connection and we all have the need to be seen, to be heard and to be understood. As humans we don’t like to be separated from the pack. Life means we will inevitably encounter times of separation. We will feel the sting of rejection and our feelings will unintentionally be hurt.

The real test is how we choose to respond. Remember to tell yourself YOU ARE ENOUGH. When your post gets fewer likes than you wanted remember that …YOU ARE ENOUGH. When the couple of outfits you try on at your favourite retail clothing store don’t fit…YOU ARE ENOUGH. When you choose to stay home but still experience FOMO it’s okay…YOU ARE ENOUGH.

Can you relate to this? How do you deal with these moments?

Here are 5 simple tools from my self care toolbox.

️Focus on three things you are grateful for. In fact,  try this in the moment when you are experiencing these negative emotions. It is impossible to be grateful and sad at the same time. Write them down if you like. This will shift your mood instantly. Living in gratitude every day takes some practice. If you want help with creating a habit,  my dear friend and mentor Julie Boyer guides you through a 30 day program in this fabulous book 30 Days of Gratitude.

Go out in nature or take a walk in your neighborhood. There are several reasons why spending time outdoors can have huge health benefits. These can translate into a sense of wellbeing and shift your energy, and calm your mind. Read more here to discover the 10 reasons why a walk outside can literally change your life.

Breathe deeply. Sometimes it can be that easy to get out of that funk. Take in air through your nose, counting to 4 and exhale through your mouth counting to 8. Do this 5 times. This will help you switch over from that fight or flight state we find ourselves in when feeling negative emotions, to your parasympathetic system where you will feel calm and more at peace.

Do you have 5 minutes? Here is a beautiful guided meditation and a dose of self love with good friend mediitation guru Angela Kontgen.

Put pen to paper and write down all that you like about yourself. It can be your personality traits and/or your physical traits and/or any compliments or feedback you have heard from others. Author Dr.Jennice Vilhauer suggests you keep a pad of paper next to your bed and every night before you go to sleep, write down three things you liked about yourself that day. In the morning, read the list before you get out of bed. Keep adding three new things to your list every day to keep the list growing. Do this every day for 30 days.

And a perfect segue to wrap up ways to uplevel your self love is to surrond yourself with people who believe in YOU. A rule of thumb is to spend time with people who are already where you want to be. They will likely see in you what you don’t always see in yourself. One of the best decisions I ever made was to choose a tribe that was aligned with my passions and whose values were the same as mine and who believed I could achieve great things. Are you looking for a tribe?  Here’s our chance to collaborate together! Contact me and let’s chat!

You are more than enough and I believe in YOU.

Love and Light,
