When someone is creative they are more joyful. That’s because creativity is a means of accessing and expressing our life force and natural gifts. Through creativity we tend to our authenticity, to that which wants to have a voice. It’s where we become alive, engaged and in wonder. – Vince Gowman
When faced with a challenge we often uncover new things about ourselves. It gives meaning to that expression Fail Forward. Being human means reaching deep within us when times get tough . It brings more purpose to those difficulites we all face as humans. For me it’s unleashing my CREATIVITY.
Just like all humans on the planet, my family and I have had our share of challenges. Those challenges have taught us to spin them into life lessons and make us more resilient.
These last few months have brought with them that dreadful cancer diagnosis we hope will never come. Back in October, during a colonoscopy , my husband was given the news that he had colon cancer. As we navigate through this brand new journey, we are focuing on our blessings and taking it one day at a time.
I have learned that my new default when times get tough is CREATIVITY. This Christmas my house was dressed up to the nines with greenery and garlands and Christmas balls. I found peace and joy in creating a festive scene un our home. It made our new challenge a bit easier to swallow and made for a wonderful backdrop for our holiday season.
Whether it’s baking, organizing your closet, or coloring in an adult colouring book, creativity can come in different shapes and sizes. It is all about anti-stress effects that allow us to find a lot of tranquility, to reduce anxiety and to bring more mindfulness.
