This is it. One chance. One life. We don’t get to do this again.
I realized this more than ever when I hit the big 4-0! That is the beauty of aging. We gain wisdom and realize this is not a dress rehearsal. Life is beautiful but S#^% T happens! The ups and downs are inevitable but we get to learn powerful lessons along the way.
This past decade I learned more than my share of lessons. What did I learn? That life is just way too short to not enjoy life and feel amazingly healthy and vibrant! Leaving my corporate career in television and launching a boutique event planning firm meant an opportunity to grow and be my own boss. Or so I thought. Ultimately it left me exhausted, unfulfilled and broke. There had to be a better way to make a contribution to the world all while enjoying the journey. I found a way to leverage my time by building a residual income with a part-time wellness business. This allowed me the time and freedom lifestyle to be with the people who needed me the most, all while keeping me optimally healthy and vibrant.

My forties also brought other challenges. My daughter fought through severe anxiety during her high school years, and my husband lost most of his vision due to eye surgery complications. Over the last few years I was reminded of how we must protect our biggest asset…our health. Most recently my sister and father were given the dreadful cancer diagnosis within two months of each other. There is nothing like the C word to make you confront your mortality. Happily they both fought hard and are here today. For me to watch them face their biggest battle was a time of deep refection on what really matters. Let’s be real. Our health and our time here on this planet are precious. We are on this earth for only a brief time.
Sometimes it is in our most challenging times that our true purpose is revealed I have spent the last decade living intentionally through the ups and downs and building a tool kit for women to live life on their terms in abundance, and radiant health.
My journey is not unique. Life happens to us all but we can CHOOSE to design the life we want amidst the changes.
